Taking a Chance - Why Not!

Wow! I cannot believe how fast time is flying and how long it has been since I posted here! Last time I wrote was a wrap up of 2025.

I can honestly say that 2026 has started off with a bang! I took that leap – you know the one – that every coach, therapist, best friend, etc. encourages you to do. I am putting my self out there with something I have never done before!

Last summer, I had a crazy idea hit me as I was organizing the thousands of pet photos I have taken. So many are so cute! I admit, I have some that are duds, but I have more great ones than I could ever include on my website. So, what could I do with these instead of them just idling on an external drive.

What to do, what to do. I created a concept piece and consulted with some of my co-vendors at the Farmers Markets. With their very supportive feedback, I got to work.

When it was almost completely done, I took a moment to pause. Not that I suffered with this, but what if no one likes it, what if they think it’s stupid, what if, what if, what if? (Know that feeling?)

With a lot of prayers and a “Just Do It” attitude (thanks Nike), I have launched my first coloring book, “Dogs I Met at the Farmers Market.” It really is for any age, and truth be known, more adults have bought them for themselves.

I don’t know where this will lead, but celebrate with me! I did it!

I’ve often found myself hesitating, overthinking the potential downsides rather than focusing on the possibility of a positive outcome. It’s like I keep a mental folder for insights like yours, and this one is definitely going in https://ndh.org.au/ You've articulated so well the internal debate that often accompanies a decision to step outside one's comfort zone. I particularly appreciated your exploration of the common pitfalls; it made me reflect on past instances where a bit more forethought, or perhaps a different kind of courage, might have led to a better result. Thinking about it, the nuances of when and how to take that leap are…
