Is Your Pet Judging You?

I actually found myself being sneaky with popcorn. The other day, when I got out the box of microwave popcorn, my Kenzy dog appeared out of nowhere. I had not even opened the box! She watched with soul piercing eyes as I unwrapped the popcorn bag and flattened it out for the microwave. I swear, if Kenzy could have been checking a watch she would have while the popcorn was popping! She has developed a bit of a breathy snort when she gets impatient…and boy was she.

Of course, she ate more of the popcorn than I did. I was working at my desk and she kept huffing and puffing and I kept caving. We did not finish the bag of course, so I set it aside for the next day.

It was about lunch time, and I was working on a project in my office. I didn’t want to stop to fix anything, but I spied the popcorn on the counter. I looked around because Mark and the dogs were in the kitchen. I waited. Then I had my break! Mark went to the basement and the dogs followed him! I then very quietly picked up the bag of popcorn and almost tip-toed out of the kitchen! Kenzy will never be the wiser!

Did I feel guilty? Well, I did a little bit. Popcorn is her favorite, along with carrots, and then there are the romaine hearts, and, oh yes, even the arugula. I always share the veggies with Kenzy when I am making salads and cooking.

What’s the worry? What is Kenzy going to think when she realizes the popcorn is gone?
